The purpose of the competition is for students to come up with innovative solutions addressing First Generation college student issues and concerns.
15 applicants will be selected to pitch on a first come, first serve basis on when they submitted their application
Applicants will have 3 minutes to pitch, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the judges
You cannot use a PowerPoint, but can bring out handouts, demos, or prototypes
Applicants will be judged on their pitches based on originality of the idea, business plan (value proposition), and potential for success
The 5 Challenge Topics
You will need to come up with a solution for one of the following:
Imposter syndrome
Difficulty feeling comfortable with asking for help
Navigating the bureaucratic structure of a college campus (in other words, problems typically have to go through multiple offices/hands in order to get solved and that can be frustrating)
Managing on-campus responsibilities with responsibilities/relationships back home
Motivation/Resilience
